In my class, Creative Writing: Prose Fiction, I am doing a case study on author Lewis Robinson. He is a individually neat writer who I have come to enjoy reading from.
He has great style and technique and adds an outdoorsy feeling for his audience.

I am going to include the paper I have written about the craft of his story collection
"Officer Friendly and Other Stories." (at the bottom of the blog)

Also I am adding links to his website and places where you may find and buy his books online.

I hope you all enjoy this author as much as I have!

Lewis Robinson’s Officer Friendly and Other Stories
Lewis Robinson presents this collection of stories with attention and emotion. He controls every situation and his technique makes for flowing construction. Preexisting scenarios are put into place by the way he uses the same location in every story and although this could cause confusion, Robinson is precise with his distinctions. His details are in depth and realistic so the reader is placed in every story and feels what it would be like. Style, tone, and distinction are all important to Robinson.
Each story in this collection is magically different. Even though aspects such as girl attention and the same location are almost in every story, Robinson takes advantage of all the different ways a reader can perceive the same actions and details. The audience is provided time to ponder what the situations describe and we are able to obtain further occurrences that probably take place in the life of the individual. Being able to craft such stories that provide ways for the reader to further the imagination is important in fictional stories such as Robinson’s which he does well.
Technique is delicate in these stories because most of the time it is from the narrator’s point of view but the audience is emphasized by the awareness of the characters lives. Robinson’s tone has much to do with this awareness. He takes the differences in each narrator and uses them as if it were actually real which gives off the same feeling and emotion as we experience in life. As a reader you will not notice that these stories are not necessarily real life happenings but could be.
The audience can read these stories as if effortlessly writing in a journal. The style that is used in Lewis Robinson’s stories captures the reader. The characters, unexpected actions, and timing play well together.
Style and dialogue are connected on the page and when reading, you become enveloped even if your imagination starts to wonder about the real life expectancies. The dialogue will call attention to itself even if presented in short hand and is mindful of the audience. The story is not told in the dialogue but rather in the detailed lives of the characters. The details that you get from Robinson’s language does not give every aspect of the characters being but you can tell by the tone and what is described, the type of person the character is most like.
This collection of stories can teach many ways for using technique with characters. You do not have to use so many details in a story to make a point about a character but rather it is the style and tone of which it is said. Our brains can pick up what the storyteller is trying to provide information on. Being able to describe such nouns and not give away exactly the point is what develops readers to use imagination.
Lewis Robinson expects his audiences to be open to his stories and expect that they be accessible to imagine the people and experiences. He uses universal complexities to show his audience things that they many have never been able to experience in real life. He does this with his characters and their class as human beings. He knows that his stories can accomplish and follows through with subtle memory en-lighteners.
The edginess of this collection of stories is what offers the most to the readers. Robinson achieves technique in many different ways with his stories that the reader can notice the technique after the story has brightened the mind. Many effects such as fear, sadness, learning, and funny situations show how well Robinson has achieved his goal. The overall craft of this collection deserves much applause because although it uses many different means of views and attractions, it is well written.
